What Information Do We Collect?

When you visit our Website you may provide us with two types of information: (1) personal information that is voluntarily disclosed and identifies or relates to a particular individual (i.e., an individual’s name, postal address, email address and telephone number); and (2) Website use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse our Website.

Children Under the Age of 13

Online ordering, customer registration, and customer feedback pages of this Website are directed toward and designed for use by persons aged 13 or older. We establish or maintain registrations for children under the age of 13 only if we have received such registrations from a parent or legal guardian. We use such registration information solely in connection with the applicable races and do not distribute such information to any third parties.  We do not otherwise solicit or knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have received personally identifiable information from an individual who indicates that he or she is, or whom we otherwise have reason to believe is, under the age of 13, we will delete such information from our systems. In addition, parents or legal guardians of a child may contact us as provided below at any time to request that we remove registration information related to such child from our systems.

Email Information

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses.

Newsletters

If you subscribe to our Newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address. These email addresses and names are not shared outside our organization, except as described in this Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe to our Newsletter at any time by selecting the “unsubscribe” link provided in the Newsletter or by sending an email to info@tcmevents.org with the word “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject field of the email.

Merchandise Orders

We request information from customers on our merchandise order forms (such as name and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number and expiration date). This information is used to fill customers’ orders and process payment. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the customer.  Customers’ names and addresses may be shared with third parties as necessary to process, fulfill or ship orders. Financial information is not retained or stored by Twin Cities In Motion.

Website Use Information

Similar to other commercial websites, our Website utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” (see explanation below, “What Are Cookies?”) and Web server logs to collect information about how our Website is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Website, and the websites visited just before and just after our Website. We, our advertisers and ad serving companies may also use small pieces of code called “web beacons” or “clear gifs” to determine which advertisements and promotions users have seen and how users responded to them.

In providing your number and accepting these terms, you represent that you have the authority to agree to receive text messages at the telephone number that you provide to Twin Cities In Motion, or from which you sent the text message request to us. You further acknowledge that no purchase is required to opt into this service, and you may opt out at any time by following instructions provided in our communications to you. Not all mobile devices or handsets may be supported by this service. Twin Cities In Motion and any mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates may apply to any text messages. Message frequency depends on the nature of your request. How Do We Use the Information That You Provide to Us?

  • In the event of a medical emergency during your participation at our events;

If you would like to review or change the personal information we collect about you, you may contact us as described in the “Contact Information” section below.  We will respond consistent with applicable law. If you are requesting a change, please make clear what personal information you would like to have changed.  For your protection, we may only implement requests with respect to the Personal Data associated with the particular email address that you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before implementing your request. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable, however, we reserve the right to retain information (a) as required by applicable law; and (b) for so long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the data is retained except to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
