Diane and Alan Page Community Cheer Challenge

On the day when it seems like half of Minnesota is running the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, we invite the other half to cheer them on!

Diane & Alan Page Community Cheer Challenge

Twin Cities In Motion and Vikings Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan Page launched the Diane & Alan Page Community Cheer Challenge in 2022.

The Cheer Challenge invites Minnesotans to assemble along the Marathon Weekend courses to support participants and gather as a community, just like Justice Page and his late wife Diane did for decades.

New in 2026: The challenge has been expanded to include Saturday

Bonus: Top cheer zones can win prizes for nonprofits of their choice!

How it Works

Winners will be determined by votes received for each day!

  • Post race participants and spectators will have QR codes that lead to the voting page (available post race). Spectators and participants can scan and choose their favorite. Participants will also receive an email post-race with the link to the voting page.

  • One vote per person.

  • Saturday winner

    • $250 will be donated for the top overall cheer zone

  • Sunday winners

    • $1,000 will be donated for the top overall cheer zone

    • $500 will be donated for the top cheer zone in one of five categories:

      •  Run club/run store;

      • Official Charity Partner;

      • Neighborhood Association or On Course Resident;

      • Band or

      • Community Group (religious group, non-running club)

Saturday’s winner is eligible for either Sunday overall or Sunday category award.

Sunday Overall winner is not eligible for a Sunday category award.

DAPCCC Rules and Regulations

While we hope each team has a fun time cheering on the participants, we also want to be good neighbors to the surrounding community and make sure cheer teams are respectful of others. Please review these rules and regulations before race day!

Mission Mile

The TCM Charity Program consists of over 60 nonprofit organizations who recruit team members to run the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon & Medtronic TC 10 Mile in support of their cause. All charity partners are invited to host an on-course cheer zone located in the Mission Mile, which celebrates the variety of causes represented by the program.

The Mission Mile is located at Oaks Park in Minneapolis, near the 20-mile mark of the marathon course and the 4-mile mark of the 10-mile course.
