In our 40 years serving the community, we’ve learned that we improve when we move together. From uncertain first strides to bucket list marathons, from meditative miles to fun family runs, each step we take together advances us individually and collectively.

Who We Are

Our Vision: A community that engages each other through movement, making for a healthier society both socially and physically.

We’re striding into the future with a new look and a new direction. We’re expanding programs, developing new services and continuing to create content that encourages people to move for more.

The aims of our new direction are clear and bold:

Our Rich Community History

Twin Cities In Motion originated in a grassroots effort to bring the energy and positivity of a community-wide running event to Minneapolis and St. Paul. From the first strides of the inaugural Twin Cities Marathon in 1982 through a rich history that saw the addition of events and programming to serve the community, TCM has inspired and empowered the Twin Cities toward the value and rewards of being in motion.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at TCM

We support diversity, equity and inclusion by increasing access to running and movement for all communities. We’re continually working with advocacy partners and community members to improve how we make movement accessible for all.

Land Acknowledgement

Twin Cities In Motion acknowledges that its events run on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary homelands of the Dakota People, as well as lands inhabited by the Anishinaabe and other Tribal Nations.

Eli Asch

Race Director

he/him/his

[email protected]

An endurance sports industry veteran, Eli joined Twin Cities In Motion in May of 2020 from the Sacramento Running Association, where he was Director of Race Operations and served as Race Director of the California International Marathon. During his tenure CIM was America’s fastest-growing major marathon and hosted two USATF marathon national championships. Prior to that he served as Logistics and Operations Manager for the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon.

Since joining TCM he is proud to have played a role in bringing Get in Gear and the Turkey Day 5k into the TCM family, and he is excited to help steward these treasured community events into the future alongside TCM's other events including its flagship Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend. A lifelong runner (who, as he says, has a passion for the sport that exceeds his talent), Eli holds an MBA in Sports Business from San Diego State University and a BA in English from Whitman College, where he was captain of the cross country team. He believes passionately that running changes lives and communities for the better, and he considers himself lucky to help Twin Cities In Motion accomplish just that.

Jenny Borgman

Warehouse, Procurement & Event Logistics Coordinator

she/her/hers

[email protected]

Jenny has such a love for the running community that she has found her dream job with Twin Cities In Motion. She has volunteered with Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and has ran it twice. She's run various other races; mud runs and an Ultra Ragnar - which she says is her craziest running event she's ever done. Jenny spends her time playing and walking their dogs (Rex, Rumble & Reese) and the oh-so fun game of wondering what she will find chewed up when she gets home every day. Now that they have moved out to the country, she enjoys watching the sun come up and getting home and watching the sunset.

Mallory Burns

Social Media & Digital

Engagement Manager

she/her/hers

[email protected]

Originally from Houston, Mallory is excited to call the Twin Cities home after moving from Texas to North Carolina to Ireland and now to Minnesota! After working in college admissions, Mallory transitioned to the nonprofit space and discovered a passion for social media and digital engagement as a tool to advance an organization’s mission. She has worked youth services, education policy, and is thrilled to now apply this passion to TCM alongside so many passionate individuals at TCM, and to work at an organization that encourages people to discover how movement is connected to one’s overall health. Outside of work, you can find her reading, walking, writing, and snuggling with her cat, Cosmo.

Alana Dillinger

Events Coordinator

she/her/hers

[email protected]

After leaving the world of New York finance, Alana started as an intern with Twin Cities In Motion in 2022 and has stayed with the organization as the events coordinator. She graduated from Gonzaga University with an applied math degree and worked as an analyst for a few years before pursuing a career in endurance events and is happy to have found a way to combine her work with her love for running.

Alana is a Colorado native and recently moved to the Minnesota in 2021. Growing up in Colorado cultivated her deep passion for the outdoors. She loves running and hiking especially in the mountains and is an advocate for sustainable living. Her interest in running and athletics led Alana to become a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner in 2023. She loves to chat about all things health and nutrition and loves to spend her time in the kitchen cooking delicious food to fuel her running adventures!

Olivia Gadberry

Partnerships & Charities Coordinator

she/her/hers

[email protected]

Originally from Forest Lake, Minnesota, Olivia spent her college years at the University of North Dakota. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a minor in Leadership and came back to her home state to kick off her career in the events industry. Both her appreciation and personal interest in event planning had her on the lookout for an internship that could teach her the ways of the event organization industry. She spent 4 months as TCM’s Volunteer & Registration Management Intern, until moving to a full-time position on the Partnerships Team. Although Olivia isn’t an endurance runner, the athlete in her knows that she fits right in at Twin Cities In Motion. Her duties include working with TCM’s partners to ensure all entitlements are activated, creating in-kind partnerships, and managing TCM’s Charity Program.

Olivia has an energetic, bubbly personality and hates to be bored. When she finally gives herself time to relax between busy social and work lives, she can be found inside, cozied up with her cat, Layla, and a true crime book, or outside laying in the sun (depending on which season it is).

Allison Greenlee

Motion Center Activation Coordinator

she/her/hers

[email protected]

After spending over a decade in Student Affairs at Macalester College and several years with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition managing events and advocating for safter streets, Allison is excited to bring her experiences to TCM. She has a passion for developing educational and social programs and found the perfect role in coordinating programs at the Motion Center. Her goals are to exemplify TCM's values by planning fun and diverse programming that is welcoming and inclusive to all. Allison is not a stranger to TCM, she completed her first marathon in 2008 and is now a 6 time Twin Cities marathon finisher. Outside of work you'll find Allison biking, running or planning her next adventure with her wife Tanya, and their sweet pup Greta.

Kelli Haapala

Senior Volunteers Manager

she/her/hers

[email protected]

Kelli is a former Twin Cities In Motion intern, volunteer, and participant. She joined the full-time staff in August of 2012 after serving as the Outreach Coordinator at Bolder Options. Her responsibilities at TCM include recruiting and organizing the 5,000 volunteers needed to manage our year-round events.

Kelli grew up in Shoreview, MN, graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a degree in Sport Management, and now resides in Duluth. Kelli has a passion for running and participated in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon in 2009 (her first of many) and loves spending time with her favorite people in the world: her husband, Greg, her two daughters, Lyla, and Kinley, and golden retriever, Gracie!

Kasey Herbster

Leadership Team Coordinator & Portfolio Specialist

she/her/hers

[email protected]

Born in Minnesota, raised in South Dakota, Kasey made her way back to the Twin Cities to receive a Bachelors degree in marketing with a minor in design. Choosing to stay in the Twin Cities after graduating was an easy decision for her as she considers Minnesota her one true home. Kasey began working for TCM in March of 2024 as the Leadership Team Coordinator and Portfolio Specialist. Her background in athletics as well as her hyper organization skills made the position feel like a natural next step in life. Although athletics has always been a major part of Kasey's life, distance running has not always been her forte. In the past she participated in soccer, basketball, and short distance track events. Currently she rock climbs, bikes, and reminds herself why she's not great at distance running with short, asthma filled, 2 mile runs. Kasey also enjoys reading, Facetiming her two beautiful/goofy sisters, and over accommodating to her cat Booger (yes that's his legal name).

Alxndr Jones

Senior Graphic Designer

he/him/his

[email protected]

Alxndr is an illustrator, designer, and okay-dude proudly living in Saint Paul. He has worked for small shops, big agencies, sports teams, breweries, and everything in between. Alxndr found running in the summer of 2021 and has not slowed down since. An avid ultra runner, he has never run "just a marathon" ... always tacking on at least 5 more miles for the "fun" of it.

When Alxndr isn't making stuff in his studio, he can be found getting lost on a run while running way too many miles, writing terrible indie rock songs, exploring state parks with his wife, or on a sushi date with daughter.

Mia Litman

Social Media and Marketing Intern

Mia, a 2023 graduate of the University of Minnesota Hubbard School of Journalism, holds a degree in Strategic Communications, specializing in Advertising and Public Relations. Despite not being an avid runner, Mia enjoys long walks, yoga, and Pilates. When not at TCM, Mia can be found working at Anthropologie, volunteering at the Tri County Humane Society, and listening to Taylor Swift's latest hits with her cat, Remi. Ski U Mah!

Celia is a Minnesota native who ran her first TCM event in 2012 - the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. She's a "back of the pack" runner who enjoys showing up and advocating that pace doesn't define the runner. As a former intern and loyal race participant, Celia knows the ins and outs of TCM, and she brings these skills to the team as Participant and Member Services Coordinator.

Celia’s two biggest hobbies are flipping furniture and visiting local breweries. She also enjoys salsa dancing, kayaking, baking, going to movies (especially Marvel movies) and spending time with her family.

Nichelle is looking forward to putting her enjoyment of event management and logistics to good use.

Nichelle is originally from Chicago, IL but has been living in the Twin Cities for almost 20 years. She has a degree in Management Information Systems, from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Nichelle enjoys bike riding around the many lakes and parkways in Minneapolis. She also has a passion for travel, including a recent trip to Egypt which included a cruise down the Nile River. Isaac also loves to check out local breweries and ice cream shops, as well as do anything outdoors (hike, bike, camp, skiing - you name it) with his wife, Jessica.

Isaac has been within the endurance sports industry, professionally, since 2013. He joined TCM in 2019 after spending 6 years working for other race organizations within the Twin Cities. An avid runner, Colleen can often be found around the Saint Paul trails with her running group training for one of her marathons or half marathons. When she isn't laced up, she can be found cozied up on the couch with a good show, a good book, and some good wine!
