Twin Cities In Motion is proud to host top and emerging professional athletes as they compete for prize purses and inspire us all with world-class performances in both the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday, October 4th and for the first time, the TC 10K on Saturday, October 3rd.
This year, Twin Cities In Motion is again proud to offer extra support to emerging athletes who hope to represent the Midwest in international competition in the future through the Best of the Midwest Invitational established in 2024 as an expansion of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Professional Invited Athlete Prize Purse. Athletes accepted to the Best of the Midwest Invitational will be eligible for an additional $20,000 bonus pool. To read more and apply you can find more information here.
The 2026 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, TC 10 Mile, and TC 10K are sanctioned USATF events and the TC 10K will serve as the 2026 USATF 10K Championships.

2026 MEDTRONIC TWIN CITIES MARATHON
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Professional Invited Field Entry Standards (including Best of the Midwest)
To be considered for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Professional Invited Field, the athlete should have achieved at least one of the above entry standards since October 1, 2024 on a USATF or World Athletics certified course at a sanctioned event. Performances at distances not listed above may be considered. Achieving the above standards does not guarantee entry into the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Professional Invited Field and only athletes accepted into the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Professional Invited Field will be eligible for the Professional Invited Athlete Prize Purse.

TC 10K Professional Invited Field Entry Standards
To be considered for the TC 10K Professional Invited Field and USATF 10K Championships, the athlete should have achieved at least one of the above entry standards since October 1, 2024 on a USATF or World Athletics certified course at a sanctioned event. Performances at distances not listed above may be considered. Achieving the above standards does not guarantee entry into the TC 10K Professional Invited Field, and only athletes accepted into the TC 10K Professional Invited Field will be eligible for the Professional Invited Athlete Prize Purse.

2026 Best of the Midwest
The Best of the Midwest Invitational is a “race within a race” in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon for professional or aspiring professional athletes with running ties to the Midwest.
Athletes accepted into the “Best of the Midwest” program will compete for a dedicated $20,000 prize purse and will receive full professional athlete amenities including a travel stipend for athletes traveling from outside the Twin Cities Metro Area; two nights stay (double-occupancy) at the event hotel; a pre-race athletes’ dinner; airport pick-up and drop-off (if needed); race day transportation from the event hotel; and elite fluids.
Athletes accepted to the field will have the opportunity to win the following prize money in addition to being eligible for the overall marathon professional prize purse.
