Participants may place their gear and other items in the clear, plastic race bag provided at gear check. Race-day gear check will be marked with a flag and located near Packet Pick Up and the Finish Line.
Please take note of the following details related to this free, race-day service:

Personal bags will not be accepted

Clear, plastic bags will be available on race day

Affix the gear check tag from race bib to the plastic bag using the tie provided at the gear check drop zone

Medtronic Half Marathon start area amenities, including parking, packet pick up, gear check and portable toilets, will open to participants at 7:30 A.M.
Gear Check bags will be transported to the Gear Check Area in Minnehaha Regional Park and available for pick-up there beginning at 10:15 A.M. until Gear Check Pick-up closes at 12:15 P.M.
Half Marathon participants will park near the Start Area on Summit Avenue near St. Paul Cathedral (exact location TBA) and be bused back to the parking areas after finishing the half marathon.
Designated Start Area Parking locations will open at 7:30 A.M., and participants are recommended to arrive to the Start Area at least 60-75 minutes in advance of the start if they are picking up their packet on race day and at least 45-60 minutes in advance of the start if they have picked up their packets in advance.
Free buses back to the Start Area will run from the Finish Area at Minnehaha Regional Park beginning at 10:45 A.M., dropping off half marathon participants at designated Start Area Parking locations, with the final bus departing at 12:30 P.M.
The Runtourage: Twin Cities In Motion celebrates all runners and walkers - whatever your pace. The Runtourage exists to provide a supportive and enthusiastic presence for our back of the pack participants. Look for our Runtourage volunteers toward the end of our races! Learn more here.
All kids 18 and under are welcome to run the Medtronic Half Marathon for free, and will receive the same amenities as adults. To learn more about the TC Kids Run Free Program click here.

Gear will be mailed to the shipping address provided at the time of registration by 5/9/25. Any changes to your address must be sent to [email protected] prior to 4/26/25. Additional charges or delays in shipping may apply for incorrect addresses.
Age group awards will be available for categories of men, women and non-binary athletes placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their age group. Age groups include 8 & under, 9-13, 14-18, 19-24, and continue in five-year increments until the 80+ age group. Athletes registered under “prefer not to disclose” for gender are not eligible for age group awards.
Prize money for the half marathon will be awarded to the top three men, women, and non-binary athletes:, Check back later this winter for more info!
Complimentary entries to next years event will be awarded to the top 3 overall men, women, and non-binary athletes in the Get in Gear 10K and Get in Gear Medtronic Half Marathon. Codes to register for the event will be sent out in December 2025. The alternative standard for a comped entry into the Get in Gear 10K and Get in Gear Medtronic Half Marathon is to have run an 85%+ age-graded performance in the last two years (there are only a limited number of these available). Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants!
As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the race course. Pedestrians are permitted to cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.
Volunteer registration will open in early 2025. We will have individual and group opportunities available and hope you will be able to donate your time and energy!
