  • The Warehouse and Event Logistics Manager serves as part of the high caliber Twin Cities In Motion (TCM) team, which has planned and executed the region’s premier running events since 1982. Its mission is simple - ignite everyone’s inner athlete. As a member of the TCM Events Team, you will drive the warehouse and logistical operations of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend and our year-round events. 

     

    TCM is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit that organizes six races with 17 distances throughout the year, including the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, to provide opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, and experiences to live an active, healthy lifestyle. Collectively, TCM and its charity partners that fundraise at TCM events give back more than $1.4 million annually to a variety of causes. 

     

    Maturity, strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are necessary for the Warehouse and Event Logistics Manager position, as is the ability to operate and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. The position reports to the Director of Event Operations and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

     

    Main Responsibilities 

    • Coordinate TCM warehouse operations: 

    • Direct daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching products to ensure a smooth workflow for all TCM departments. 

    • Maintain accurate inventory and stock levels of all TCM event supplies and equipment. 

    • Inspect, clean and maintain event-specific supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition prior to each event. 

    • Assure safe warehouse operations 

    • Determine and implement warehouse storage layouts to maximize capacity and efficiency for both standard stock and bulky event equipment. 

    • Manage assigned vendors and source necessary equipment and vehicles. 

    • Provide data and assist orders for participant services (e.g., medals, shirts, operational items). 

    • Create equipment and supplies lists and fulfill equipment needs (e.g., procurement and distribution). 

    • Manage event signage, including storage, inventory, condition assessment, and organizing specialized transport to prevent damage. 

    • Oversee the picking, packing, and staging of all supplies and equipment required for each event, ensuring 100% order accuracy  

    • Truck & Event Logistics 

    • Route Planning: Coordinate all inbound and outbound trucking activities, including scheduling all equipment truck timelines and routes 

    • Truck Loading: Manage the loading and unloading of all event equipment trucks 

    • Driver Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for equipment truck drivers in transit to provide updates on delivery statuses or routing changes. 

    • Act as point person for our Motion Center Partner warehouse support, including, but not limited to receiving shipments, warehouse organization and assisting partners around their event and key event timeframes. 

    • Manage Logistics volunteer committee for MTCM weekend and other TCM events as assigned by Director of Event Operations 

    • Manage Signage & Supplies volunteer committee for MTCM weekend and other TCM events as assigned by Director of Event Operations 

    • Manage assigned vendors and availability of needed assets, including submitting RFPs, RFQs and assessment of new vendors when needed 

    • Assist in Programming Room operations, specifically the set up and tear down of the space for all TCM events, and knowledge of Motion Partners' use of the space. 

    • Collaborate with other individuals or departments to ensure complete and accurate details, including integration of sponsors and partners, into all TCM events and operational plans 

    • Provide event management support for all TCM events, including documentation updating, permitting, and leading an assigned area on race day. 

    • Assist TCM Events department for budgeting, and compliance processes assigned. 

     

    Qualifications  

    • Minimum of 3–5 years in warehouse management, preferably with a focus on event or logistics services. 

    • Minimum 2-4 year's event management experience is preferred. 

    • Proven ability to work with diverse peers, community and volunteer groups   

    • Effective leader, able to build consensus among all constituencies  

    • Skillful communicator able to effectively interact with a diverse group of personalities  

    • Strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills  

    • Able to handle a busy, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with attention to detail and ability to maintain a calm presence during challenging situations  

    • Ability to regularly lift weights for events up to 25 lbs. and occasionally weights up to 40 lbs.  

    • A valid driver’s license is required. 

    • Comfortable driving box trucks (no CDL required)  

    • Forklift certification a plus, willingness to become forklift certified a must  

    • Experience with non-profits and volunteerism a plus  

    • Experience with and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

    • Available to work non-traditional business hours during all events and to attend evening and morning meetings  

    • Four-year degree preferred  

     

    Status: Full-Time, exempt, in-person office work environment   

      

    Salary: $60,000-65,000 per year
