Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend: Sustainability

The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America®
We are blessed with the most beautiful environment in the Twin Cities and at Twin Cities In Motion we want to start doing our part and work towards hosting a more sustainable event to keep it that way. We hope you join us in lessening our impact on the environments we are get to run in and there are a few ways you can help us throughout your race weekend!

TC 10 Mile and Twin Cities Marathon Recognized as World Athletics Sustainable Events
For the first year the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and TC 10 Mile have been recognized as a sustainable events by World Athletics in addition to our World Athletics Road Race Label.
The Athletics for a Better World Standards address all levels of an event including procurement, energy, food and water management, travel, and diversity, accessibility, and inclusion within our staff, volunteers, and participants. Our Marathon and 10 Mile have met the standards to be a certified sustainable event and our staff is setting our sights on higher certification levels in the future.
Twin Cities In Motion will continue to follow and advocate for the sustainability values we share with World Athletics. We recognize the growing environmental challenges that face our world today; air pollution, climate change, and overconsumption of resources. We also recognize the lack of global equality and diversity that create environmental and social impacts that can pose as serious threats to our quality of life and our communities.
