Registration & Pricing

Below is the registration pricing for the Women Run the Cities 5K. Tier 1 and Tier 2 will close as blocks are filled. Price tier increases for tiers 3-7 are date-based. All registration tiers, including virtual, are subject to availability. Register early to guarantee your spot and shirt size.

Virtual registration is $35 for both the 5K, 10K and 10 Mile. There are no price increases in the virtual event.

Packet Pickup

Provide your race number (emailed race week) to pick up your race materials. Race morning packet pick up at the event is available for those unable to attend packet pick up.

Parking & Transit

We strongly encourage carpooling, biking, or using public transportation.

Be sure to allow plenty of time (45 minutes to an hour) between arrival and start time to walk to the packet pickup area, use toilets, check your gear, and prepare for the event.

FREE RIDES on Metro Transit buses and METRO lines for participants from 5 a.m.-1 p.m.! 
Drop Off / Pick Up Zone: On South Minnehaha Drive, across from Minnehaha Depot.

50th Street Light Rail Station – Blue Line is recommended light rail stop

Race Festival is an approximate 6-minute-walk (.3 miles) from the 50th St - Minnehaha Station via the Metro Transit Blue Line.

Parking: There is no designated participant parking, but neighborhood parking is available in the area.  Please pay close attention to no parking signs, designated parking hours and meter details. Do not park along the race course and obey all parking rules in effect.

Virtual Race

Participants in the virtual 10 Mile, 10K and 5K will be able to submit results May 1 – December 31, 2022. Submit results for the 5K here.  

Gear will be mailed to the shipping address provided at the time of registration. Gear will be shipped out Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Any changes to your address must be sent to info@tcments.org prior to Friday, April 22. Additional charges or delays in shipping may apply for incorrect addresses.

Runners wishing to switch race distance or transfer registration to another person must complete the process by Wednesday, May 11, 2022. There are fees involved. Switching and transferring processes are conducted through your Race Roster account. (Helpful instructions here.)

TC Kids Run Free Program

NEW in 2022! All kids aged 18 and under are welcome to run any distance for free.  Kids in the 5K, 10K and 10 Mile will receive the same amenities as the adults. To learn more about the TC Kids Run Free Program click here

Kids in the TC Kids Run the Cities will receive a fun finishers gift.  There will be age appropriate distances including an approximate mile, half mile, and pre-K dash.

Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants! As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the race course. Pedestrians are permitted to cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.

Participants in the virtual 10 Mile, 10K and 5K will be able to submit results May 1 – December 31, 2022. Submit results please refer to the link listed in the specific race page.

Age group awards will be mailed out post-event for the categories of men, women, and non-binary athletes placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in their age group.

Age groups include 14 & under, 15-18, 19-24, and continue in five-year increments until the 80+ age group. Athletes registered under “prefer not to disclose” for gender are not eligible for age group awards.

When should I register?

Online registration closes when field limit is reached or at 6 p.m. on May 18, 2022, whichever comes first. Walk up registration will be offered at packet pick up May 19, 20 and 21. Register early for the lowest price!

What precautions is TCM taking to ensure my safety?

Since the start of the pandemic, Twin Cities In Motion (TCM) has worked closely with permitting municipalities and agencies, the State of Minnesota, and medical and crowd science experts to determine how to best provide the Twin Cities with a safe large-scale in-person races. Additionally, in advance of all events TCM maintains close communication with public safety officials. Safety has always been our organization’s top priority, and we continuously monitor COVID-19 and all other public health and safety risks. Any event changes or updated protocols will be communicated in the Pre-Race Email sent race week.

Can I switch from the 5K to another distance?

Registrations may be switched between the 5K, 10K, 10 Mile and virtual distances OR to another person one time. Transfer fees and restrictions apply. Registrations may only be transferred within the designated transfer period for each event.

Registration transfers to another individual may only be transferred within the same event and distance as the original registration.

Can I receive a refund or defer my entry to next year?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email info@tcmevents.org within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable. Deferrals are not offered.

Can I pick up my friend's packet?

Yes. Please have their race number and the correct spelling of the person's name available during pick up. Registrants will be notified of race numbers in the pre-race email following the end of online registration. Picking up others' packets is limited to FOUR at a time if others are waiting in line; thanks for understanding.

Do I have to run the entire time?

No, you may walk or run at any time during the race. Women Run the Cities 5K participants must, however, be able to maintain a 30-minute-per-mile pace throughout the race due to course limits.

Can I run with a stroller?

Strollers are permitted in Women Run the Cities 5K distance only. For security and safety purposes, all persons with a stroller or baby jogger in Women Run the Cities 5K must be able to maintain the specified pace and agree to the guidelines listed in registration for participation with a stroller. To participate in the event with a stroller, you must display your assigned stroller race bib on the stroller.

Can I run with my dog/pets?

We love four-legged friends, however, they are not permitted on course. Thanks for understanding.

Are men/boys allowed to participate?

The spirit of the event is it's a woman's empowerment race.  All kids under the age of 18 are welcome to run any distance for free as part of the Kids Run Free program.

How do I volunteer for the event?

We're looking for people available to volunteer at the event on race day. Help us set up the event, serve participants on course, manage logistics, and more. Click here.
