Why are you not rescheduling this race?

Due to limited dates of availability for permits in an increasingly crowded summer and fall, postponement for this event is impractical this year.

If you have registered in the last 48-hours you may request a refund by emailing info@tcmevents.org. Please note, this policy is valid until 5 days before the event.

What are some guidelines for safely running outside?

TOP COVID RELATED SAFETY TIPS

  • Don’t run if you feel sick

  • Follow all public health guidelines, including social distancing guidelines of staying 6ft from people not in your household

  • Don’t gather in large groups and avoid congregating in common areas - Do not run the RWB race course at the original start times on the 4th

  • We discourage runners from unnecessary travel, especially those who are considered an at-risk group

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

  • Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth

  • Wear a mask in public settings before and after your run

  • Prepare for limited access to public restrooms and water fountains

  • Share the trail and warn other trail users of your presence as you pass

  • Alter your route or time of day you run if you find it too crowded to ensure appropriate social distancing

TOP GENERAL SAFETY TIPS

  • Drink when you feel thirsty, bring plenty of fluids

  • Run before it gets too hot or on a less humid day

  • If you’re feeling hot, lightheaded, or dizzy during the run slow your pace to prevent overheating

  • Follow all traffic and pedestrian laws at all times—roads aren’t closed, so you must be responsible for your own safety and maintain situational awareness

  • If wearing headphones, keep volume down and only wear one ear bud.  Always stay alert and aware of what’s going on around you

  • Look and listen both ways before crossing

  • Write down or tell someone of your running route and when you plan to run

  • Wear reflective material if you must run before dawn or after dark

  • Carry identification or write your name, phone number, and blood type on the inside sole of your running shoe.  Include any medical information.

  • Run against traffic so you can see approaching automobiles

Can I create a virtual team with this event?

Yes, it is an option on the registration page. Anyone can create a team or join a team. When you register, you can create a team name and then others can join when they register from the drop-down list of team names.

How do I participate in the social media activities?

Make sure to follow Twin Cities In Motion on Facebook and Instagram @twincitiesinmotion for the release of contests and activities starting Saturday, July 4.

If you'd like to submit your picture for a contest, please tag @twincitiesinmotion on either Facebook or Instagram. This way we will be able to see all the submissions. The last day to accept submissions is Saturday, July 18.

How will you contact the winners of the social media contests?

We will reach out via either Instagram or Facebook messenger to gather your contact information to deliver the prize to you. Winners will be contacted after July 18 to ensure everyone can participate in the time frame of the Virtual Red, White & Boom!.

If a winner is contacted and we do not hear back within 3 days, the prize will be provided to the next randomly drawn winner.

Can I do my virtual run on the original Red, White & Boom! course?

We encourage all participants to complete their race via a route that starts from your home. We encourage all participants to follow proper social distancing guidelines as outlined above.

TCM has put together some alternative routes that involve historic sights in Minnesota history. They start from the parking lot of our title sponsor, Summit Brewing Company and venture all over town.
