Transportation and Parking

The City of Minneapolis has declared a Snow Emergency. Parking rules begin at 9 p.m. Feb. 7 and will last through the event. Learn more about the parking rules at .

Be sure to allow plenty of time (45 minutes to an hour) between arrival and start time to walk to the packet pick up area, use toilets, check your gear, line up in the start corral, and prepare for the event. We strongly encourage carpooling, biking or using public transportation. Metro Transit Bus Route 22H, from the 38th Street Blue Line Station, makes a stop at 28th Ave S. & 49th St. E, about a 15-minute walk from the packet pick up area.

The DROP OFF/PICK UP ZONE is located in the parking lot on E. Minnehaha Pkwy, between Cedar Ave. & 22nd Ave. S. Participants may be dropped here and can walk to the festival and start line. Vehicles and pedestrians should use caution entering and exiting this area. Watch for icy spots!

Limited parking is available in the neighborhoods around Lake Nokomis. Cedar Av.e allows for parking on both sides of the street north of E. 52nd St. Please be cautious of areas with no parking and be aware of snow emergency restrictions and traffic conditions in the city of Minneapolis. Parking will not be available on Lake Nokomis Parkway, at the community center, or in the Lake Nokomis Main Beach parking lot.

Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants! As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the race course. Pedestrians are permitted to cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.

2019 results will be available online after the event.

When should I register?

Registration for the Valentine's Day TC 5K begins Thursday, November 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. Registration closes when field limit is reached or at 6 p.m. on February 8, 2019, whichever comes first.

Registration prices increase as the field fills -- register early for the lowest price!

How can I see if I'm registered?

Use the online registration confirmation tool to verify entry to the 2019 Valentine's Day TC 5K and 1 Mile Walk.

Can I receive a refund or defer my entry to next year?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email or call 651-289-7701 within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. Race registrations for select TCM events may be transferred to another person. Registrations may only be transferred within the designated transfer period for each event and within the same event and distance as the original registration. The Valentine's Day TC 5K transfer deadline is Friday, February 1, 2019. Additional fees and restrictions may apply. Once race numbers are assigned, they are never transferable.

Email with questions.

Can I pick up my friend or team's packet?

Yes. Please have ready their race number and the correct spelling of the person's name. Registrants will be notified of race numbers in the pre-race email following the end of online registration. Picking up others' packets is limited to FOUR at a time if others are waiting; thanks for understanding.

Can I pick up my packet on race day?

Yes. If you are unable to pick up your packet before the event, packet pick up will also be available at the north end of the Lake Nokomis Main Beach parking lot beginning at 9 a.m., and will conclude at 9:45 a.m.

Do I have to run the entire time?

No, you may walk or run at any time during the race. Valentine's Day TC 5K participants must, however, be able to maintain a 20-minute-per-mile pace throughout the race due to course limits. The course closes at 11 a.m.

Can I run with a stroller?

Strollers which display an assigned "Stroller Bib" are permitted on the Valentine's Day TC 5K and in the 1 mile courses. For security and safety purposes, all persons with a stroller or baby jogger in the Valentine's Day TC 5K must be able to maintain a 20-minute-per-mile pace and agree to the guidelines listed in registration for participation with a stroller.

Can I run with my dog/pets?

We love four-legged friends, however, they are not permitted on course. Thanks for understanding.
