All Ages Welcome

Siblings and guardians of all ages are welcome to register and run alongside their child at this event.


Free Training

Free 12-, 8- or 4-week logs are available to support families’ and class commitment to running.

Fun Course

The course features a hill we call "Little Mt. Como" and a chance for kids to run through obstacles.

Morning Entertainment

Between running and cheering, kids can dance and and enjoy organized activities.

Everyone who participates receives a fun medal at the finish line to commemorate the event! It features a brightly colored ribbon and characters Harry and Shelly on the medal.
Race Details
Packet Pick Up

Packet pick up and race day registration will begin at 8 a.m. 

  • Pick up your child's race bib and participant gift at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your child's wave
  • Teachers and school group leaders arriving by bus may arrange to pick up a school's box and check in all students at once
  • Race day registration will be available -- parents or guardians, and friends and family may to register to run

The registration tent will be located near the street outside of the Como Picnic Pavillion, located at 1199 Midway Pkwy, St Paul, MN 55103.

Schedule of Events

Listen to the announcer for when your wave is called to line up, approximately 10 minutes before the start of your child's wave. Wave starts typically last ten minutes, but they may last longer if there are multiple starts for large age groups.

Adults and kids without a race bib are not permitted on the course. The finish line area can busy, so plan to meet them after they move through the finish line to collect their medal.

Parking Information

Free parking is located on the streets and surface lots surrounding Como Park. Be sure to allow plenty of time between arrival and start time to walk to the packet pick up area, use toilets, and prepare for the event.

There will NOT be a shuttle service from the elementary school to the park in 2019.


Harry & Shelly

Cheer for TCM mascots Harry and Shelly as they kick off the morning with their own race! Last year Harry was distracted with high-fiving spectators and lost by a... hare. Harry and Shelly will be cheering on runners, handing out medals and posing for pictures!

Team USA Minnesota

Professional athletes from Team USA Minnesota want to join in on the fun! They lead the kids through warm-ups, cheer on runners, and inspire great runs through their interactions on the course.

Twin Cities Road Crew

The entertainment group "Twin Cities Road Crew" will be at the event with a high-energy team leading group activities such as dancing, hula hoops, and short games. Come and go from this area between cheering and running!


Kids count their own laps at this event. There are not timed results, but a clock will be set up at the finish line.


When should I register?

Online registration for the TC Kids Cross Country Fun Run closes at noon on Thursday, May 16. In person registration will be available on race day at Como Park. Print the registration form at the top of the page and bring it with you on race day.

How can I see if I'm registered?

My child's wave is coming up soon, what should I do?

You should make your way to the start area 10 minutes prior to your child’s race. Line up behind the start area next to the plume (flag) with your age group.

What if my child misses their wave?

This event is intended to expose your children to fun and exercise on a cross-country field. All of the children will be winners. Should your child miss their start wave, you can make your way to the start area and place them with another age-group. Please consider your child's age and fitness capability should you move them into another wave. Safety is our number one concern.

Can a parent or guardian run with their child?

Yes! Parents or guardians are welcome to register and run with their children. Friends and family members may join the fun, too. Adults and kids without race bibs are not permitted on the course.

Can I get a refund, defer my entry, or transfer?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration only. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email or call 651-289-7701 within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable. Deferrals and transfers are not permitted.

Can I run with my child in a stroller?

Strollers which display a "Stroller Bib" are permitted on the course. For security and safety purposes, all persons with a stroller or baby jogger in the must be able to maintain a 20-minute-per-mile pace and agree to the guidelines listed in registration for participation with a stroller.
