Clocks & Timing

Digital clocks will be located at the 5 and 10 mile marks as well as at the finish line. The clocks provide the elapsed gun time for the race. TCM uses a computerized ChampionChip timing device to score the race. It is a single-use chip that you can keep as a souvenir or recycle in a bin located in the finish area.

Mile Markers

Each mile will be marked with 7' plumes.

Course Time Limit

The half-marathon finish line remains open until 10:00 a.m. assuming a 6:30 a.m. start. Participants must cross the finish line by 10:00 a.m. in order to be considered "official finishers". After 10:00 a.m., the course and finish line are closed.

Course Closing Bus

Finishing the half-marathon by 10:00 a.m. generally means maintaining an average pace of 16:00 per mile. The race course is opened to traffic on a rolling schedule as participants make their way to the finish. The City of Minneapolis requires that participants unable to maintain the 16:00 per mile pace board a course closing bus or move to and remain on the sidewalks.

Fluid Stations

Water, Mountain Blast flavored POWERADE Ion4 sports drink, and porta-potties are available at, approximately, miles 2.5, 5, 7.5, 9.75, and 11 on the course. Please note that Fluid Station locations are subject to change. POWERADE will be located on the first tables and water will be available on the later tables.

Medical Aid

Medical Aid stations will coincide with Fluid Stations.

Course Considerations

Please be aware that during the race Metro Transit will need to maintain their normal bus schedule. Buses may need to cross the course in a few locations throughout the course.  Although every effort will be  made to lessen the impact on the course, there is the possibility that you will be stopped momentarily to allow a bus to cross. Please obey the direction of the Course Marshals and Police officers.

Road Closure/Course Crossing Information

Starting at 5:00 a.m., SE Main Street between E 3rd Ave & SE 6th Ave will be closed. Expected opening time is 11:00 a.m.

The course will close to all traffic by 6:15 a.m. and will re-open on a rolling schedule (as last runners pass through).  Minneapolis Police Officers will be placed strategically throughout the course to allow traffic to cross parts of the course between breaks in the runners at major intersections.
