Questions?

Why are you changing the distance(s) offered?

After needing to shorten the half marathon distance multiple times in the past couple of years due to heat and inclement weather, we wanted to shorten the distances offered.  We thought, what is more fun than running 4 Miles on the 4th of July!

I am a 1776 Society Member, will I still maintain my status in 2022, and going forward?

Yes, all those holding 1776 status (meaning they’ve ran every Red, White & Boom! since 2010) will continue to be a part of the 1776 Society.

When should I register?

Online registration closes when field limit is reached or at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 1 or, whichever comes first. Walk up registration will be offered at packet pick up July 2, 3 and 4, if spots are available. Register early for the lowest price!

How can I see if I am registered?

Use the online registration confirmation tool to verify entry to the 2022 Red, White & Boom!

What precautions is TCM taking to ensure my safety?

Since the start of the pandemic, Twin Cities In Motion (TCM) has worked closely with permitting municipalities and agencies, the State of Minnesota, and medical and crowd science experts to determine how to best provide the Twin Cities with a safe large-scale in-person races. Additionally, in advance of all events TCM maintains close communication with public safety officials. Safety has always been our organization’s top priority, and we continuously monitor COVID-19 and all other public health and safety risks. Any event changes or updated protocols will be communicated in the Pre-Race Email sent race week.

If you are interested in learning more, including our cancellation policies for both COVID-19 and reasons other than COVID-19, click here

Can I make any changes to my registration?

Registrations may be switched between the in-person event and virtual event OR to another person one time. Transfer fees and restrictions apply. Registrations may only be transferred within the designated transfer period for each event.

Runners wishing to make changes to their registration must complete the process by Friday, June 24 There are fees involved. Switching and transferring processes are conducted through your Race Roster account. (Helpful instructions here.)

Email info@tcmevents.org with questions.

Can I receive a refund or defer my entry to next year?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email info@tcmevents.org within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable.

Can I pick up my friend’s packet?

Yes. Please have their race number and the correct spelling of the person's name available during pick up. Registrants will be notified of race numbers in the pre-race email following the end of online registration. Picking up others' packets is limited to FOUR at a time if others are waiting in line; thanks for understanding.

For a swift pick up process, please fill in this Packet Pick Up Authorization form in advance, form will also be available at pick up too.

Is there a time limit for finishing the event?

You may walk or run at any time during the race. Participants must, however, be able to maintain a 20-minute-per-mile pace throughout the race due to course limits.

Are strollers / dogs permitted?

Strollers are permitted in the 4 Mile and must display a stroller bib assigned at packet pickup. For security and safety purposes, all persons with a stroller or baby jogger in the Red, White & Boom! 4 Mile must be able to maintain 20-minute-per-mile pace (pace coming soon) and agree to the guidelines listed in registration for participation with a stroller.

We love four-legged friends, however, they are not permitted on course. Thanks for understanding.

Can I volunteer for the event?

Yes! We're looking for people available to volunteer at the event on race day. Help us set up the event, serve participants on course, manage logistics, and more. Click here.
