On race day, packet pick up will move to Father Hennepin Bluff Park, located at 420 SE Main Street, Minneapolis, MN 55413.

Parking Information

Paid parking is available at a variety of ramps and lots on either side of the river. Half marathon participants are encouraged to park near their start line on the west side of the Mississippi River.

City of Minneapolis metered spaces are not enforced on Independence Day. Please be aware not all metered spaces in Minneapolis are operated by the City; always read the information posted on the meter to be certain.

Be aware that normal parking rules and fees apply and take note of any hooded meters (no parking). Allow for at least 30 minutes of extra time on race morning; Main Street closes to traffic between 3rd Avenue and 6th Avenue at 5 a.m. and reopens at Noon, West River Parkway closes to traffic between Stone Arch Bridge and Plymouth at 6 a.m. and reopens at 11 a.m. and other streets surrounding the start, finish, and course may be blocked. Please plan your route ahead of time and be respectful of private property.

Spectators

Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants! As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the race course. Pedestrians are permitted to cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.

When should I register?

General registration for the Red, White & Boom! will open in early 2020. Registration closes when field limit is reached or at 6 p.m. on July 3, 2020, whichever comes first.

Registration prices increase as the field fills from $54-$81 per person. Register early for the lowest price!

How can I see if I'm registered?

Once registration is available: Use the online registration confirmation tool to verify entry to the 2020 Red, White & Boom!

Can I have more than two people on my relay team?

No, the relay is limited to two persons only. 

Can I switch from the relay to another distance or transfer my entry?

Registrations may be switched one time to another distance within the event. Additional fees and restrictions may apply. Registrations may be transferred to another person. Registrations may only be transferred one time within the designated transfer period for each event and within the same event and distance as the original registration. The Red, White & Boom! transfer deadline is June tbd, 2020. Additional fees and restrictions may apply. Once race numbers are assigned, they are never transferable. 

Log in to your Race Roster account to begin a switch or transfer. Click transfer and follow the instructions. Email registration@tcmevents.org with questions. 

Can I receive a refund or defer my entry to next year?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email info@tcmevents.org or call 651-289-7700 within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable. Deferrals are not permitted.

Can I pick up my friend's packet?

Yes. Please have ready their race number and the correct spelling of the person's name. Registrants will be notified of race numbers in the pre-race email following the end of online registration. Picking up others' packets is limited to FOUR at a time if others are waiting; thanks for understanding. 

Can I pick up my packet on race day?

Yes. If you are unable to pick up your packet before the event, packet pick up will also be available near the start line beginning at 5:30 a.m.

Do I have to run the entire time?

No, you may walk or run at any time during the race. Red, White & Boom! relay participants must, however, be able to maintain the half marathon pace limit average of 16-minute-per-mile throughout the race due to course limits.
