Race Details
Registration & Packet Pickup Information

Registration opens at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16 and participation is limited to the first 250 runners total between the 5K and 10K — so register fast to ensure your spot. If the limit is not reached, registration will close at 9 a.m. the day before the race. There is no race day registration.   

The cost of 5K registration is $35.00-$45.00 (plus processing fees).   

The cost of 10K registration is $40.00-$50.00 (plus processing fees).

Course Information

The Summit Triumphant 5K features a single loop of Bde Maka Ska. The Summit Triumphant 10K includes loops of Bde Maka Ska and Lake of the Isles. Both courses run on the paved pedestrian path.

Virtual Event

Participants in the virtual event will be able to submit results starting March 24 through July 16, 2021. Submit results here

Gear will be mailed to the shipping address provided at the time of registration. Register by 5 p.m. on Monday, June 7 for mailing by Friday, June 18.  All virtual registrations after that date and time will be mailed by Friday, July 16. 

Parking

Parking is available along Bde Maka Ska Parkway, in parking bays and parking lots, many of which are pay to park locations. Neighborhood parking is also available around Bde Maka Ska. Please be aware of neighborhood specific no-parking restrictions, as runners getting parking tickets is not the fireworks anyone wants leading up to the fourth of July. There is no parking at Thomas Beach Parking Lot.  

Spectators

Spectators are strongly discouraged at MNy 250 and will be excluded from the entire race venue or select parts of the race venue as made possible by the event site layout.

Those runners participating in the virtual event will be able to submit their results here. Results will be open until July 16.

Questions?

What precautions is TCM taking to ensure my safety?

Masks are required to be worn in all areas inside the venue until you have crossed the start line. Masks do not need to be worn on course while running but should not be discarded and must be put back on as soon as possible after crossing the finish line.  

Immediately after the finish line there will be a pick-up of a pre-packaged bag with short sleeve Brooks technical shirt, finisher medal, sealed bottles of fluids, and packaged food. One bag per runner, please. There will be a single fluid station with sealed, bottled fluids available on the 10K course.   

In accordance with state guidelines there will be no results board, awards ceremony, or finish festival. Once participants have collected their post-race goodies they are asked to promptly depart the event venue without congregating in groups.  

Additional Safety measures include, but are not limited to: 

  • All participants, volunteers and staff are required to undergo an on-site contactless COVID screening (screening questions) before participating in the event
  • In order to comply with current state of Minnesota gathering-size restrictions, no unregistered spectators will be allowed at MNy 250s
  • All participants, volunteers and staff are required to wear masks (participants are not required to wear a mask while racing) 
  • Small wave starts to maintain social distancing
  • Multiple hand sanitizing stations
  • No race day registration
  • Fluid stations on courses over 5K in distance, all participants are encouraged to be self-sufficient
  • Pre-bagged participant shirt/gift, food and water for contactless post-race distribution
  • Runners are required to maintain social distancing at all times while not racing and are encouraged to maintain 6' space between fellow participants whenever possible while on course
  •  Runners are required to promptly depart finish line after completing race
  • No spitting, hugging, or high-fives, but air hugs, virtual high fives and words of support are highly encouraged

Can I make any changes to my registration?

I can no longer make the event. Can I transfer to a friend? 

Yes, you may transfer your race entry to a friend by June 10, 2021 at 5 p.m. After that date your registration is non transferable. Please follow this link to initiate a transfer. There is a $15 transfer fee. 

I’m signed up for the 10K, but I’d rather do the 5K or visa versa; can I switch distances?  

If a participant wants to transfer from the 5K to the 10K, they will be responsible for the $15 transfer fee AND the difference in entry fees. If a participant wants to transfer from the 10K to the 5K they will be responsible for the $15 transfer fee AND no refund will be made to account for the difference. The deadline to switch distances is June 10, at 5 p.m. After that date your registration is non transferable. Click here to begin the process. Participant shirt sizing is subject to availability at the time of transferring. 

I’m currently signed up for the in-person MNy 250, can I switch to the virtual event, or vice versa?  

If a participant wants to transfer from the virtual to the in-person event, they will be responsible for the $15 transfer fee AND the difference in entry fees.  If a participant wants to transfer from the in-person to the virtual event they will be responsible for the $15 transfer fee AND no refund will be made to account for the difference. Deadline is June 10, 2021 at 5 p.m. After that date your registration is non transferable. Click here to begin the process. 

Can I receive a refund or defer my entry to another date? 

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email info@tcmevents.org  within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable. Twin Cities In Motion does not offer deferments to future events or years.

Are Strollers or Dogs Permitted?

Strollers or pets are not permitted at the event.  

I am a Reward In Motion Member, will I receive points/credits for this event?

Rewards In Motion (RIM) members will receive points when registering for our MNy 250 events, however they will not count towards your tier status. You may also use previously earned points towards the cost of the event.   

RIM is our rewards program that gives back to you for participating in Twin Cities In Motion's events. It is completely FREE and takes just a few minutes to sign up.

What will happen to my registration if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19?

If the event is cancelled for any reason, including federal, state, or local COVID guidance, your entry will be converted to virtual and you will receive your medal and gear in the mail, and there will be no credits, deferrals or refunds issued.
