Start Line Procedures

Participants will line up in the Start Corral in waves of 25, following markers on the ground within the Start Corral to maintain six feet of separation. Waves will start approximately 3 minutes apart.

Participants will be assigned to a wave based on their estimated 5K finish time. Within waves participants may line up as they wish, maintaining six feet between each runner.

You will be informed which wave you are in and what its start time is in the pre-race email which you will receive 1-2 days before the event. You will listen to the start line announcements on-site to know when your wave is being called to the start corral.

Your time will not start until you cross the start line, so it does not matter where in the wave you start.

Results

Results will not be available in real-time. Unofficial results will be online by shortly after the final finisher crosses the line. Contact ed@tcmevents.org with any results issues.

Questions?

What precautions is TCM taking to ensure my safety?

Safety measures include, but are not limited to:

  • All participants, volunteers and staff are required to undergo an on-site contactless COVID screening (temperature reading and screening questions) before participating in the event

  • In order to comply with current state of Minnesota gathering-size restrictions, no unregistered spectators will be allowed at MNy 250s

  • All participants, volunteers and staff are required to wear masks (participants not required to wear mask while racing)

  • Small wave starts to maintain social distancing

  • Multiple hand sanitizing stations

  • No race day registration and a contactless packet pickup process

  • No fluid stations on course -- all participants must be self-sufficient

  • Pre-bagged food and water for contactless post-race distribution

  • Runners are required to maintain social distancing at all times while not racing, and are encouraged to maintain 6' space between fellow participants whenever possible while on course

  • Runners are required to promptly depart finish line after completing race

  • No spitting, hugging, or high-fives, but air hugs, virtual high fives and words of support are highly encouraged

Are masks required?

Yes, masks are required to be worn in all areas inside the venue until you have crossed the start line. Masks do not need to be worn on course while running, but should not be discarded and must be put back on before you exit the finish chute. Masks may be removed after you finish if you are actively eating or drinking.

When should I register?

Registration opens on Monday, August 17. Participation is limited to the first 225 runners so register fast to ensure your spot. If the limit is not reached, registration will close at 9 a.m. the day before the event. There is no race-day registration.

The cost of this event is $30 (plus processing fee). The higher reg fee than other MNy 250s is due to a higher venue rental fee that Twin Cities In Motion cannot absorb and so must be passed on to the participant. Thank you for your understanding.

How can I see if I’m registered?

You may confirm your registration for this event here.

Will I receive any swag or awards for this event?

There are no t-shirts, or additional swag with this event. Each participant will receive a branded race number with included timing chip on the back of the race number.

There are no awards with the MNy 250s.

Can I receive a refund, or defer my entry to another date?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email info@tcmevents.org  within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable.

If you are displaying COVID-19 symptoms prior to race day or at the race location, you will be allowed to defer your registration. Please email info@tcmevents.org for directions.

What post-race amenities will be available?

There will be a contactless pick up of pre-bagged water, sports drink and snacks for all runners immediately after the finish line. One bag per runner, please. There will be no water on-course except in cases of dangerous heat or humidity.

TCM will not have post-race activities and asks that once you receive your pre-bagged items that you exit the venue

Where should I park?

Are strollers permitted?

No, strollers are not allowed at these events.

Can my family/friends come to watch?

Why couldn’t TCM convert its existing events to this style of racing?

Current Minnesota Department of Health restrictions don’t allow for public gatherings of larger than 250 persons in controllable venues such as the ones hosting MNy 250s (hence the “250” in the name). Those limits coupled with the limited availability of suitable venues allow us to only offer MNy 250 racing opportunities at this time. The COVID mitigation measures required of MNy 250s make them entirely different event experiences than previously-existing Twin Cities In Motion, but if you’re registered for an event that went virtual and are jonesing for an in-person racing fix, the MNy 250s might be just the return to in-person racing you’re looking for!
