Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon

Pro & Competitive Athletes

We are proud to host top U.S. and international athletes at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon this October. Open, masters and wheeler athletes will take to the streets of Minneapolis and Saint Paul to vie for a prize purse totaling over $75,000. We will welcome runners from around the globe and in the United States. From 2013-2015, thirty-eight athletes qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon from 2013-2015, the third largest total of any race.

Athletes wishing to obtain professional/elite/competitive status for the marathon must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Completion of a certified marathon in the previous two years satisfying the following time qualifications

  • Performance(s) in races shorter or longer than the marathon, clearly indicating an ability to complete a marathon satisfying the above time qualifications

  • Another significant qualification at the discretion of the Professional Recruiting Committee

Consideration for travel or other financial assistance requires additional qualifications and is only available in the open & wheeler categories. Contact a recruiter (below) to be considered for entry and support.
