The Medtronic TC 1 Mile course runs down Nicollet Mall, downtown Minneapolis's main 12-block thoroughfare and the doorway to some of the best restaurants, shopping, entertainment and hotels in town.
The course will be run entirely on Nicollet Mall. The start line is between 3rd Street South and Washington Avenue and the finish line is between 14th and 15th Streets South. The course has a slight rise for the first three blocks and then maintains a slight downhill for seven blocks before rounding an easy curve and leveling off for the final 200 meters.
Clocks & Timing
Split clocks will be available at each quarter mile. Each quarter mile will also be marked with a tall white sign positioned on the right side of the road.
The race is chip timed using ChampionChip provided by Mtec. It is a single-use chip that you can keep as a souvenir or recycle in a bin located in the finish area.
Due to course time constraints, participants must be able to finish a 13 minute mile. Runners may have to move to the sidewalk and obey traffic signals if finishing slower than a 13 minute pace.
The course is certified (#MN-09012_RR) and the event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. Twin Cities In Motion strongly encourages, but does not require, USATF membership except for runners competing in the USATF Minnesota Team Circuit Championship. For more information on USATF, click here.
Road Closure/Course Crossing Information
Nicollet Mall will be closed to all bus and taxi traffic starting at 6:30 p.m. Traffic will flow on cross streets between waves.
Water will not be available along the course but will be available at the finish line.
