2017 Professional Athlete Invitational Standards

Male athletes seeking entry into the Professional Race of the Medtronic TC 1 Mile must have run 4:01.7 or faster for a mile on the track (or 3:43.7 or faster for 1500m) in 2015 or 2016.

 

Female athletes seeking entry to the Professional Race of the Medtronic TC 1 Mile must have run 4:47.0 or faster for a mile on the track (or 4:25.4 or faster for 1500m) in 2015 or 2016.

Event record incentive - $10,000 will be awarded to the 1st place male and the 1st place female setting a new event record.

Notes:

1 USATF Championship prize money will be awarded from the USATF Championship waves only, based on gun time. Athletes must meet qualifying criteria and be provided an entry from the Professional Athlete Recruiter for these waves.
2 Masters prize money can be won from any wave and will be awarded based on chip time. Double dipping will be allowed. 
3 Open prize money will be awarded based on chip time and will be awarded from waves 1 - 2 and 4 -5 only.  
4 USATF MN Team Circuit prize money will be awarded based on the scoring formula used by the circuit.  All team members must run in the Team Circuit wave in order to be scored.
5 Individual Team Circuit prize money will be awarded based on gun time from the Team Circuit wave only.

Bring Back the Mile Tour

The Medtronic TC 1 Mile is part of the 2017 Bring Back the Mile Grand Prix Tour, which offers a $110,000+ for in the year-long series.

Awards

Professional wave awards will be presented at the finish line to the top three finishers of each gender immediately after the race.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place age-group awards will be given in the following categories: 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80 & over.  Age group awards will be presented based on chip time from any wave except the Professional Championship.  Age-group awards will be mailed to recipients.

Drug Policy

Twin Cities In Motion has a zero tolerance drug policy.

 

Athletes who participate in TCM events may be subject to drug testing conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).  Athletes with positive drug test results will forfeit any prize money and will be disqualified from the TCM event in which such athlete participated. 

 

Athletes who previously have been suspended for violations of the drug policies of USA Track & Field (USATF) or the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) will not be invited to TCM events and are not eligible for an elite number or any financial assistance.

 

Athletes are eligible to participate in TCM events and win prize money if they meet the following criteria:

  • Serve appropriate suspension time; and

  • Complete all requirements and conditions for reinstatement by USATF or IAAF.
