Registration & Pricing

Due to its popularity, registration for the Medtronic TC 10 Mile is conducted by a random drawing. The drawing is free to enter. 

You will be required to complete the registration process and submit your credit card for a $99 payment (plus fees) that will only be charged if you are selected in the drawing. 

The 2023 drawing will be open for entrants at 10 a.m. Monday, June 12 and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21.

Those selected in the drawing will receive their acceptance via email on Tuesday, June 27. 

Have a pre-drawing access code?

If you have a registration access code (as a TCM Member, for example) that bypass the random drawing, you must register using your code before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 2.

Packet pick up will be available at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Saint Paul RiverCentre.  
  
There is no packet pick up on race day. No exceptions.

The Expo is located on the lower level of the Saint Paul RiverCentre at 175 West Kellogg Blvd St. Paul, MN 55102.    

You will need your race number (emailed the week of September 25) and a photo ID to pick up your packet at the Health & Fitness Expo. The Help Desk located in the packet pickup area is staffed by individuals available to help you with registration-related issues. There are also two “Race Number Look Up” tables located near the packet pick up entrance.    

Course Details

The Medtronic TC 10 Mile start line is near US Bank Stadium and the finish line is at the Minnesota State Capitol.

The event is sanctioned by USATF and the course is certified by USATF and World Athletics. 

Water and Nuun Endurance sports drink (flavor TBD) will be available at the fluid stations along the course.

Transportation & Parking

Transportation and parking details are still being finalized for the 2023 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend events. 

Like previous years, we expect to have free participant buses for marathon and 10-mile participants, including rides to the start line from St. Paul and rides from the finish line back to Minneapolis and to the InterContinental in downtown St Paul. 

Metro Transit (bus and light rail) will be available at no charge for participants. To redeem participants will need to present a printed voucher available online.

Gear will be mailed (to the  address provided at the time of registration) by Friday, October 13. If you don’t receive it by Monday, October 23, please contact us at info@tcmevents.org promptly.

Any changes to your address must be sent to info@tcments.org prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26. Additional charges or delays in shipping may apply for incorrect addresses.

An additional $20 shipping charge applies to virtual registrants with shipping addresses in Canada or Mexico. Sorry, we are not accepting virtual registrants with shipping addresses outside of the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants!

As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the racecourse. Pedestrians can cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.

Age group awards will be mailed out post-event for the categories of men, women, and non-binary athletes placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in their age group.

Age groups include 14 & under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, and continue in five-year increments until the 80+ age group. Athletes who have been accepted into the Pro Field or who registered under “prefer not to disclose” for gender are not eligible for age group awards.

Professional Invited Athletes: To be considered for the TC 10 Mile Professional Invited Field, the athlete should have achieved at least one of the above entry standards since October 1, 2021 on a USATF or World Athletics certified course at a sanctioned event. Performances at distances not listed above may be considered. Achieving the above standards does not guarantee entry into the TC 10 Mile Professional Invited Field, and only athletes accepted into the TC 10 Mile Professional Invited Field will be eligible for the Professional Invited Athlete Prize Purse. FAQs

I have a 10 mile access code. When and how do I use it?

Anyone with an access code for the Medtronic TC 10 Mile is able to unlock access to the 10 Mile registration, allowing you to bypass the registration drawing held June 12-21 All individuals with an access code need to register for the 10 Mile by 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 2. 

  1. In Race Roster select the black "I have an access code" button the right-hand side under the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon logo.
  2. Enter access code in window stating "Unlock access code-only sub events". Enter your code and click the "Validate" button.
  3. Follow prompts and complete registration process. 
How do I enter the 10 mile drawing?

The 2023 drawing will be open for entrants at 10 a.m. Monday, June 12, and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21.

Individual Entry

  1. Visit the Medtronic TC 10 Mile page and click "Apply Now."
  2. Click "Individual Entry" and complete the form. You should receive an email confirmation of drawing entry.
  3. You will be required to complete the registration process and submit your credit card for a $99 payment (plus fees) that will only be charged if you are selected in the drawing. 
  4. Those selected in the drawing will receive their acceptance via email on Tuesday, June 27.

Group Entry

A group entry is comprised of up to 10 individual entries connected through the group functionality option. This process allows individuals to enter the drawing with the contingent that one, two, or up to nine others are all selected or all not-selected, together. Registering as part of a group does not change your odds of being selected. Group entries are for registration purposes only; there is no team component to the Medtronic TC 10 Mile on race day.

  1. Visit the Medtronic TC 10 Mile page and click "Apply Now."
  2. Click “Apply for Registration as a Group” and select the “Group” sub-event. 
  3. Either add yourself to an existing group or create a new group for others to join. Changes cannot be made to add or changes groups after the original entry is completed. 
  4. Members may not be added to the group after Wednesday, June 21 at 11:59 p.m.
  5. Complete the form. You should receive an email confirmation of drawing entry. 
  6. Everyone entered in the drawing, including all individual group members, will be notified via email of selection results on Tuesday, June 27. 
How can I see if I'm registered?

Runners will not be able to confirm their drawing status of confirm their registration until July 21. You will be able to confirm your have applied for the drawing registration here

Can I receive a refund or defer my entry to another date?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email info@tcmevents.org within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable.

Can I transfer my registration?

You may transfer your race entry prior to 11:59 p.m. on August 21, 2023, to another person or may switch to any distance (except the in-person 10 mile) that is not sold out. After August 21, 2023, your registration in non-transferable. Transfers are conducted through your Race Roster account (helpful instructions here). Participant shirt sizing is subject to availability at the time of the switch.

You are responsible for the following transfer costs: 

  • $15 transfer fee
  • Cost difference between your original registration fee and the new distance's current registration fee
  • There is no refund for a lesser event price difference 

NOTE: 

  • Participants my not switch into the Medtronic TC 10 Mile because registration is done by a drawing process and would be unfair to those we turn away from the drawing
  • There is not switching into races that are sold out, and TCM does not maintain a waiting list
Can I pick up my friend’s packet or can someone else pick up my packet?

Yes. One runner may pick up another runner's packet. 

Your representative will need a completed Packet Pick Up Authorization Form and their photo ID in order to pick up your packet. Your representative will also need to have the runner’s race number.

Note: only the representative's photo ID is required, not the participant’s.  

Is there a time limit for finishing the event?

All Medtronic TC 10 Mile participants must complete the course by 2:15 p.m. If you are passed by the marathon leaders—which may happen for participants completing the TC 10 Mile at or near a 15-minutes-per-mile pace—you are required to follow all instructions from event officials, which may include moving to the side of the road. This is for the safety of both you and the lead marathoners, as official marathon lead vehicles and bicycles will be operating on the road along with runners during this period. 

Additionally, the first three miles of the 10 Mile are run on a dedicated route separate from the marathon course. Participants are required to complete this section of the course at an 18-minutes-per-mile pace. Participants who fall behind this pace will be asked to board the sweep vehicle following this section of the course. Should you choose not to board the sweep vehicle, by order of Minneapolis police, you must move to the sidewalk and obey all pedestrian traffic laws until you complete this section of the course as it reopens to traffic on a rolling basis behind the sweep vehicle. Runners who choose to continue and are not on the sidewalk for this section of the course, will have their race number recorded and are subject to a ban from future TCM events. 

What flavor of Nuun drink and gels will be available on course?

Nuun Endurance sports drink (flavor TBD) will be available at all fluid stations along the course.

Are strollers/dog permitted?

Strollers are not permitted in the Marathon, 10 Mile and 10K. 

Strollers are permitted in the 5K, Mile and Half Mile. Please indicate that you intend to run with a stroller on your registration form. You will sign a special waiver and be given a special "Stroller Bib" at packet pick up. 

While we love our four-legged friends, we ask that they cheer you on from the sidelines and you reunite with them after exiting the Finish Controlled Zone. Thank you for your understanding. 

What precautions is TCM taking to ensure my safety?

Safety has always been our organization’s top priority. We continue to monitor COVID-19 and all other public health and safety risks and will evaluate and update our event safety protocols so that they are properly calibrated on event weekend. Any event changes or updated protocols will be communicated in the Pre-Race email sent race week.

What will happen to my registration if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19?

Registration for the 2023 Medtronic Twin Cities Weekend registration is non-refundable 48 hours after registration and is completely non-refundable for registrations made five calendar days or less before the event, except if state or local authorities mandate race cancelation due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. In that case, partial cash refunds will be provided per this document.

How do I volunteer for the event?

It takes nearly 5,000 volunteers to keep our organization and events running. 

Whether you’re looking for a one-day experience or a year-round leadership opportunity, we offer a variety of meaningful roles suited to help you reach your personal and professional goals. From course marshals to fluid stations and finish line volunteers, we have something for everyone.
