Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend - 2021

Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend Is Back!

It’s Time to Move Forward.

The 2021 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend is planning for an in-person event. The marathon will run from downtown Minneapolis to the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul on Sunday, October 3, and running events for runners of all ages and pace will take place across the weekend.

It’s Important to be Safe.

We’ve partnered with experts and officials to build an event that’s COVID-safe from before the start to beyond the finish. And, we’ll monitor the public health situation through race-day to organize an event that’s appropriate for the moment. We’ve included virtual races for those who prefer the option. And, we created a new partial cash refund policy where we share the risk should COVID-19 cancel the race again.

Now More than Ever.

Those who prosper because of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon – runners, volunteers, partners, and the nonprofits who run with us -- need an opportunity to shine. We’re excited to offer that opportunity on the first weekend of October, because the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon is more than a marathon.

More than a Marathon

Questions?

What precautions is TCM taking to ensure my safety?

We at Twin Cities In Motion have spent much of the past year working with our permitting municipalities and agencies, the State of Minnesota, and medical and crowd science experts to determine how we can best provide an in-person racing experience at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend this October. While all of the details aren’t finalized yet, we remain optimistic that an in-person event will take place and are committed to providing a safe return to large-scale racing in the Twin Cities that follows all relevant guidance and also ignites everyone’s inner athlete.

What you will see at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend this fall:

  • Reduced field sizes
  • Elimination of the most-dense gatherings throughout the weekend
  • Stay home if you’re sick
  • Consideration of others

Can I volunteer?

It takes nearly 5,000 volunteers to keep our organization and events running. Whether you’re looking for a one-day experience or a year-round leadership opportunity, we offer a variety of meaningful roles suited to help you reach your personal and professional goals. From course marshals to fluid stations and finish line volunteers, we have something for everyone.

Check back this summer for open spots.

How can I further support TCM?

TCM’s ability to impact our community is due in part to the generosity of our runners and supporters. As a community 501(c)3 non-profit, we exist to provide platforms for people to run together in safe and exciting ways that are approachable for everyone, regardless of age, background or economic ability. Your support will ensure an investment in the local running community for years to come, sustain TCM through this difficult time and lay the foundation for generations of runners.

You can donate during your registration process for a TCM event, or can donate here at our Give MN site.
