Gear Check

Participants may place their gear and other items in the clear, plastic race bag provided at gear check. Race-day gear check will be marked with a flag and located between Packet Pick up and the Finish Line. Please take note of the following details related to this free, race-day service:​ 

  • Personal bags will not be accepted​ 

  • Clear, plastic bags will be available on race day 

  • Do NOT leave bags unattended on race day at any time​ 

  • Affix the gear check tag from race bib to the plastic bag using the tie provided at the gear check drop zone​ 

  • Tie bags securely shut before dropping at the gear check drop zone​ 

  • Do not check valuables, Twin Cities In Motion is not responsible for lost or stolen items​ 

  • Gear check opens at 7:30 a.m.​ 

  • Gear check closes at 11:45 a.m.​ 

  • We discourage runners and spectators from carrying non-transparent bags at the event at any time 

Parking & Drop Off

Parking is very limited; we strongly encourage carpooling or using public transportation.

Be sure to allow plenty of time (45 minutes to an hour) between arrival and start time to walk to the packet pick up area, use toilets, check your gear, line up in the start corral, and prepare for the event. The start lines are over .25 miles from the packet pick up/festival area. Please plan your route ahead of time and be respectful of private property.

LIMITED FREE PARKING:
Limited parking is available in two Graco lots on Marshall Street until lots are filled. Signs will be posted at the entrance/exit to designated lots. Lots will fill quickly and access to the lots adjacent to the race course my be limited until the streets re-open after the event.

  • Surface lot on the corner of Marshall St. and NE 9th Ave.
  • Surface lot on the corner of Broadway St. and Marshall St. 

SELF-SERVE DROP OFF/PICK UP ZONE:
Located on West River Road, north of Plymouth Ave. The drop off zone will not be staffed with volunteers. To access this area, exit I-94 at Broadway St., and proceed to West River Raod via Plymouth or Broadway. Participants may be dropped here and can walk to the packet pick up area, less than a half mile on a plowed path. Vehicles and pedestrians in drop-off zone should use caution entering and exiting the area. Watch for icy spots. 

Please be cautious of areas with no parking signs and be aware of current winter-season parking requirements, snow emergency restrictions and traffic conditions in the city of Minneapolis. Please do not park in the Ramsey neighborhood (adjacent to Boom Island Park). This is reserved for residents. 

Virtual Race Information

Participants in the virtual 10 Mile and 5K will be able to submit results  March 1 – December 31, 2023.

Gear will be mailed to the shipping address provided at the time of registration by Friday, April 7, 2023. 
 
Any changes to your address must be sent to info@tcmevents.org prior to Friday, February 17, 2023. Additional charges or delays in shipping may apply for incorrect addresses. 

If a participant wants to transfer from the virtual to the in-person event, or from the in-person event to the virtual event, they will be responsible for the transfer fee AND the difference in entry fees. In addition, no refund will be made to account for the difference. Runners wishing to transfer must complete the process by Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 6 p.m. After that date, your registration is non-transferable. The transfer process is conducted through your Race Roster account. TC Kids Run Free Program

Runners aged 18 and under run at no cost at Twin Cities In Motion events through our TC Kids Run Free program. TCM Members and Donors support the program, the first installment of a larger initiative by nonprofit TCM to make events accessible to all. 

Kids can run in either the event’s “grown-up” race(s) or in 1 mile, half a mile and pre-K-dash races held in conjunction with the event.

Spectators

Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants! As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the race course. Pedestrians are permitted to cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.
