Below is the registration pricing for the Hot Dash 5K. Tier 1 and Tier 2 will close as blocks are filled. Price tier increases for tiers 3-7 are date-based. All registration tiers, including virtual, are subject to availability. Register early to guarantee your spot and shirt size.

Virtual registration is $35 for both the 5k and 10 Mile. There are no price increases in the virtual event.

NOTE: Subject to change. Check back closer to event day for final event details.

Parking is very limited; we strongly encourage carpooling or using public transportation.

Be sure to allow plenty of time (45 minutes to an hour) between arrival and start time to walk to the packet pick up area, use toilets, check your gear, line up in the start corral, and prepare for the event. The start lines are over .25 miles from the packet pick up/festival area. Please plan your route ahead of time and be respectful of private property.

DROP OFF/PICK UP ZONE: is located near Sheridan Memorial Park. Volunteers will be stationed to assist. To access this area, exit I-94 at Broadway St., take a left on Marshall St. NE, and then an immediate left onto 13th Ave. NE. Participants may be dropped here and can walk to the packet pick up area, approximately 0.6 miles on a plowed path. Vehicles and pedestrians in drop-off zone should use caution entering and exiting this area. Watch for icy spots!

Please be cautious of areas with no parking signs and be aware of current winter season parking requirements, snow emergency restrictions and traffic conditions in the city of Minneapolis. Please do not park in the Ramsey Neighborhood (adjacent to Boom Island Park). This is reserved for residents.

LIMITED FREE PARKING: is available in three Graco lots on Marshall Street until lots are filled, signs will be posted at the entrance/exit to designated lots. Lots will fill quickly and access to the lots adjacent to the race course may be limited until the streets re-open after the event.

Virtual Race Information

Participants in the virtual 10 Mile and 5K will be able to submit results March 1 – December 31, 2022. Submit results for the 5K here.  

Gear will be mailed to the shipping address provided at the time of registration on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

Any changes to your address must be sent to prior to Friday, February 18. Additional charges or delays in shipping may apply for incorrect addresses.

Switching Distances or Transferring Registration
Runners wishing to switch race distance or transfer registration to another person must complete the process by Wednesday, March 9, 2022. There are fees involved. Switching and transferring processes are conducted through your Race Roster account. (Helpful instructions here.)

TC Kids Run Free Program

NEW in 2022! All kids aged 18 and under are welcome to run any distance for free. Kids in the 5K and 10 Mile will receive the same amenities as the adults. To learn more about the TC Kids Run Free Program click here

Kids in the TC Kids Tater Trot will receive a fun finishers gift. There will be age appropriate distances including an approximate mile, half mile, and pre-K dash.

Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants! As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the race course. Pedestrians are permitted to cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.

Results & Awards

2022 Results will be available after the race. Age group awards will be mailed out post-event for the categories of male, female, and non-binary athletes placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in their age group.  Athletes registered under “prefer not to disclose” for gender are not eligible for age group awards.

Participants in the virtual 10 Mile and 5K will be able to submit results March 1 – December 31, 2022. Submit results here.

When should I register?

Online registration closes when field limit is reached or at 6 p.m. on March 16, 2022, whichever comes first. Walk up registration will be offered at packet pick up March 17, 18 and 19, if spots are available. Register early for the lowest price!

How can I see if I'm registered?

What precautions is TCM taking to ensure my safety?

Since the start of the pandemic, Twin Cities In Motion (TCM) has worked closely with permitting municipalities and agencies, the State of Minnesota, and medical and crowd science experts to determine how to best provide the Twin Cities with a safe large-scale in-person races. Additionally, in advance of all events TCM maintains close communication with public safety officials. Safety has always been our organization’s top priority, and we continuously monitor COVID-19 and all other public health and safety risks. Any event changes or updated protocols will be communicated in the Pre-Race Email sent race week.

Can I switch to the 10 mile or virtual?

Registrations may be switched between the 5K, 10 mile and virtual distances OR to another person one time. Transfer fees and restrictions apply. Registrations may only be transferred within the designated transfer period for each event.

Can I receive a refund or defer my entry to next year?

Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration. This policy is valid until 5 days before the event. To request a refund, email within 48 hours of when you submitted your registration. If accepted, you will be refunded your race entry fee; online transaction fees are non-refundable. TCM does not have a deferral program.

Can I pick up my friend's packet?

Yes. Please have their race number and the correct spelling of the person's name available during pick up. Registrants will be notified of race numbers in the pre-race email following the end of online registration. Picking up others' packets is limited to FOUR at a time if others are waiting in line; thanks for understanding.

Will gear check be available on race day?

Participants may place their gear and other items in the clear, plastic race bag provided at gear check, marked with a flag and located between Packet Pick up and the Finish Line. Please take note of the following details related to this free, race day service:​

  • Personal bags will not be accepted
  • Clear, plastic bags will be available on race day
  • Do NOT leave bags unattended on race day at any time​
  • Affix the gear check tag from race bib to the plastic bag using the tie provided at the gear check drop zone​
  • Tie bags securely shut before dropping at the gear check drop zone​
  • Do not check valuables, Twin Cities In Motion is not responsible for lost or stolen items​
  • Gear check opens at 7:30 a.m.​
  • Gear check closes at 11:45 a.m.​
  • We discourage runners and spectators from carrying non-transparent bags at the event at any time
Do I have to run the entire time?

No, you may walk or run at any time during the race. Hot Dash 5k participants must, however, be able to maintain a 25-minute-per-mile pace throughout the race due to course limits. 

Can I run with a stroller?

Strollers are permitted in the 5K and must display a stroller bib assigned at packet pickup. For security and safety purposes, all persons with a stroller or baby jogger in the Hot Dash 5K must be able to maintain a 25-minute-per-mile pace and agree to the guidelines listed in registration for participation with a stroller.

Can I run with my dog/pets?

We love four-legged friends, however, they are not permitted on course. Thanks for understanding.

Can I volunteer for the event?
