Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf will compete in the 800 meters at the 2014 Michigan Track Classic on Aug. 10.  The event will be held at Saline High School track, which is located in Saline, Michigan, near Ann Arbor.  The 800 meter race starts at 7:30 p.m.

Kampf has a best in the distance of 2:00.04.

At the GNC Live Well Liberty Mile in Pittsburgh on Aug. 1, Gabriele Grunewald was first and teammate Kampf was second in times of 4:31.68 and 4:32.12 respectively.  Kampf has been a two-time winner of the Liberty Mile while Grunewald had finished second in the first year of the race in 2012.

Grunewald's time tied the event record which was set by Kampf in 2013.  The Liberty Mile was the fourth stop on the 2014 Bring Back the Mile Grand Prix Tour.

Team USA Minnesota is based in the Twin Cities. Formed in 2001, the purpose of the training center is to improve the competitiveness of post-collegiate American distance running and to develop Olympians. Twin Cities In Motion is a major sponsor of the program.
