Week 3: What to Wear on Race Day by Brooks®

Race day is quickly approaching! For those getting ready to run the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon this October, we’ve assembled a race day checklist so that you can stay focused on running.

  • Race Day Outfit: You probably don’t want to show up in your pajamas. The night before, assemble an outfit that’s clean and ready to go.

  • Shoes: Kind of important. Double-check your laces to make sure they aren’t overly worn.

  • Water: Even with water stops along the way, it doesn’t hurt to carry your own if you think you might get extra thirsty.

  •  Energy Essentials: Bring something you’ve had before. Race day isn’t the time to change from what’s been working.

  • Race Number: Don’t forget your bib!

  • Timing Chip: Make sure you receive one, and then make sure it’s secure.

  • Gear Check Bag: Load up on clothing and treats for after the race.

  • Watch: Having a watch handy will help you steady your pace.

  • Layers: It may not be winter yet, but the race still might be chilly. Bring extra layers that you can easily toss aside or put around your waist.

We hope these tips help. If you have other helpful ideas, please share it on our Facebook page for other runners to see. See you on race day!

P.S.

Come for the run—stay for the fun! The reward for participating in this year’s Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon is having the opportunity to experience the Brooks Cavalcade of Curiosities. After you’ve finished the race, grab a snack, and stop by our one-of-a-kind interactive double-decker bus full of wonder.

By visiting the Cavalcade, you’ll have the chance to receive a free gait analysis, product trials and info, and free prizes. You will also get to visit the Arcade of Oddities, which includes the world’s biggest shoe and other strange and memorable exhibits.
